Danny Rose has revealed the Tottenham squad watched Liverpool's incredible Champions League victory on Tuesday and drew inspiration to stage a miraculous fightback of their own.

Spurs went into Wednesday's meeting with Ajax 1-0 down from the first leg and reached the half-time interval 3-0 down on aggregate after goals from Matthijs de Ligt and Hakim Ziyech had seemingly put the tie beyond the visitors.

But Lucas Moura completed a stunning hat-trick deep into injury time to send Tottenham through on away goals and break Ajax hearts.

The astonishing victory sent Spurs into their first-ever European Cup final and came just 24 hours after Liverpool had successfully scaled an equally daunting mountain in coming from three behind to knock Barcelona out.

"We saw Liverpool last night and it just goes to show it's not over until it's over," Rose told BT Sport at full time.

"There were a few words said at half-time and we then played like that.

"We can beat anyone when we play like that. The gaffer mentioned it at the hotel before we left and said that's the right attitude.

"How we started against Ajax in the first leg was not right and now we're looking forward to the final."
