Tottenham have been drawn in Champions League Group B, where they will face Bayern Munich from the Pot 1 seeds.
Spurs were beaten by Liverpool in last season’s final, becoming the eighteenth side in the history of the European Cup to have reached a final without winning the trophy.
But Tottenham, firmly in their new home at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, have bolstered their squad this summer with the likes of Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso, and despite a sluggish start to the domestic campaign will be looking to pick up where they left off in Europe.
Spurs face a tough test against German champions Bayern as well as potentially tricky ties against Olympiakos and Red Star.
