'Tottenham want cold Liverpool revenge' - Christian Eriksen

Christian Eriksen is targeting 'cold revenge' when Tottenham travel to Liverpool on Sunday.

Spurs were reduced to 10 men and thrashed 5-0 by Brendan Rodgers' side in December, in a defeat which prompted club chairman Daniel Levy to relieve former boss Andre Villas-Boas of his duties.

Tim Sherwood succeeded the Portuguese boss in January and recently insisted that he won't allow his side to capitulate as they had done on occasion under their previous manager.

And the Spurs boss, who himself is under growing pressure, will be looking to show how far the club has come since last year's dispiriting result at White Hart Lane.

Eriksen hasn't given up on a top-four finish and claims the players are determined to show their true ability at Anfield.

"Everybody here wants to prove we're not that bad," he said in the Independent on Sunday.

"We have some big losses against the bigger clubs. We know if we want to go any further or any closer to the top, we have to win. It's still a big gap [to the top four].

"Of course, we will be realistic. At this point, just look one game at a time. The whole League is so close right now.

"If you lose one game you're feeling down, if you win you're up, so I think we just take one game at a time and then see where we are after Sunday.

"Everybody wants a nice cold revenge. That's certainly a distinctive response."
