Tottenham and Millwall officials will hold talks with police and fan groups tonight ahead of Sunday’s FA Cup quarter-final at White Hart Lane.

The meeting is designed to establish security arrangements and inform supporters of certain details regarding transport, ground entry and policing.

It is normal for supporters to be invited to such gatherings only before major matches, such as London derbies. Officials from the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Trust will attend, as will their equivalents from Millwall.

Tottenham fan representatives usually attend such meetings prior to matches at Arsenal, Chelsea or West Ham.

The last such encounter involving Spurs supporters was before their Premier League match at Chelsea, on November 26.

This match has been classed Category C-IR, which means police deem it high-risk, while “IR” indicates “increased risk of disorder”.

“IR” is a label applied usually when local rivals meet, or there are matches between clubs with a long history of rivalry.

The categories are determined by the assessment of the threat level, and the intelligence gathered by police in the build-up to the game.

Millwall have already sold out their allocation of 3,681 tickets for the last-eight tie.

The League One club were initially offered 2,800 places, but lobbied successfully to receive nearly 900 extra spots for what could be the final cup fixture at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham plan to stage home matches at Wembley next season, before they occupy their £800million, 61,000-seat stadium during the 2018-19 campaign.
