Tottenham duo Dele Alli and Harry Kane have been nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year 2017 award.

Alli won the accolade last season after a superb breakthrough campaign and is in the running again this year as a reward for his impressive performances for Mauricio Pochettino's side.

The midfielder, who turned 21 earlier this week, has scored 16 goals in 30 top-flight appearances this term.

Kane is also a former winner, having picked up the gong for his exploits in the 2014-15 season, and has shone again this term despite enduring two spells out through injury.

The Spurs striker - like his goalscoring rival Romelu Lukaku - has been nominated for both the young and senior awards.

Burnley defender Michael Keane is also on the six-man shortlist, having come of age for Sean Dyche's side.

The former Manchester United youngster won his first England cap earlier this year and is regularly linked with a lucrative move away from Turf Moor.

Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has kept just three clean sheets for the relegation-threatened Black Cats but has emerged with his reputation enhanced regardless.

Manchester City forward Leroy Sane completes the list of contenders, having established himself as a key member of Pep Guardiola's attack.

Sane's speed has proven to be difficult for Premier League defenders to cope with and the Germany international appears to be set for a bright future.
