Tony Pulis: Chelsea are the best team in the land - Antonio Conte deserves the Premier League title

1/55

Tony Pulis praised Antonio Conte for leading Chelsea to the Premier League title on Friday night, but admitted his disappointment that it came at the Hawthorns.

West Brom looked to be on their way to spoiling Chelsea's title party as their well organised defence held back a Blues side who knew victory would secure them their fifth top-flight crown.

Pulis admitted after the match that he had sent his West Brom team out to make it as hard as possible for the Blues to be crowned champions, but conceded that Chelsea are deserving winners of the league this season.

"We didn't want to just roll over," Pulis said. "They are the best team in the land this season. Full credit to the players - the atmosphere was great, it was a proper match. You have to give Antonio credit.

"They are very well organised and have some wonderful players and some fantastic individual players.

"They've done that over the course of the season - they deserve it. It's disappointing they've done it tonight though."

Chelsea will finish the season off with home games against Watford and already-relegated Sunderland at Stamford Bridge next week.
