Tiemoue Bakayoko has thanked Chelsea's Michy Batshuayi for helping secure his move to Stamford Bridge.

The former Monaco man completed his £40million switch to the Premier League on Sunday and watched his new team-mates thrash Fulham 8-2 at Cobham hours later.

He has become the second most expensive player in Chelsea's history after the Blues fought off late competition from Manchester United to land the Ligue 1 winner.

And Bakayoko has credited his "agent" Michy Batshuayi for pushing the move through in a cheeky Twitter post.

“Thanks to my agent @mbatshuayi," Bakayoko wrote on Twitter.

In a graphic attached to the post he added: "I would like to say thank you to all my fans and followers for your kind words throughout this journey - as you know, I love championships!

"As a Ligue 1 champion, I am even more determined to win as many championships as I can with my dream team Chelsea. I am pleased to represent the Blues!

"Thank you, yours truly, TB."

Bakayoko is expected to play alongside N'Golo Kante in Chelsea's midfield next season and becomes the club's third signing of the summer after Antonio Rudiger and Willy Caballero.
