Sutton intend to spend Arsenal's £50,000 donation on club facilities.

The Gunners are planning to gift Sutton the money after FA rules prevented the Premier League club giving over their share of the £100,000‑plus gate receipts from last night’s tie.

Arsenal are waiting on the FA's all clear before donating the funds.

The money will be spent on new dressing rooms and also providing a teaching area for youth teams that use the ground.

“The reality is that Arsenal have been superb all the way through this,” manager Paul Doswell told Standard Sport. “It’s going to go into the Community Scheme and they’ve promised us £50,000. That is an amazing gesture from them and one we’re very thankful for.

“The money will be spent on things such as new dressing rooms and all the toilets [will be fixed]. Everything you could want your house to look like, we’ll get it in order. It won’t be spent on players.”

Chairman Bruce Elliott said: “We are looking to do something for the kids as part of the Community Scheme we have, that’s what [Doswell] was referring to. There are many things we have discussed, including building new changing rooms.”
