Uefa has confirmed it is taking no action against Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos for a clash with Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius in the Champions League Final.

Ramos struck Karius's head with his right elbow in an off-the-ball incident when the score was 0-0 early in the second half of Madrid's 3-1 win on Saturday.

Television replays also appeared to show Ramos being pushed toward Karius by Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk.

European football's organising body released a statement saying a disciplinary rule which allows cases to be opened for serious misconduct not seen by the match officials "is not applied in this case."

Uefa added: "No other protest has been lodged."

Ramos angered fans of Liverpool and Egypt for his earlier challenge that ended Mohamed Salah's game due to an injured left shoulder, while an Egyptian lawyer has filed a €1 billion lawsuit against Ramos over the incident.

Salah was forced off in tears with a suspected ligament damage of his shoulder, but is now "confident" of taking part in this summer's World Cup finals.

Lawyer Bassem Wahba is keen to press ahead with the lawsuit, confirming his intention on Egyptian television.

Sergio Ramos sued for €1 billion by Egyptian lawyer after Mohamed Salah injury

"Ramos intentionally injured Mo Salah and should be punished about his actions," he claimed on the Sada El-Balad channel.

"I've filed a lawsuit and a complaint to Fifa.

"I'll ask for compensation, which could exceed €1 billion (£873 million), for the physical and psychological harm that Ramos gave Salah and the Egyptian people."
