Real Madrid 0-1 Barcelona: Raphinha scores brilliant goal to seal Clasico win in Las Vegas

Jonathan Gorrie24 July 2022

Raphinha scored his second goal in as many games to help Barcelona beat Real Madrid in Las Vegas during the early hours of Sunday morning.

The Brazilian completed a protracted move to the Camp Nou earlier this month despite offers from Arsenal and Chelsea, describing playing for the Catalan giants as a “childhood dream”.

While hardly a Clasico to remember, Xavi’s side followed up their thrashing of Inter Miami with a win over their arch rivals, who failed to register a shot on target.

Former Leeds star Raphinha intercepted a wayward pass from Eder Militao in the 27th minute before scoring from distance to seal a morale-boosting victory over the European champions.

Robert Lewandowski made his Barca debut following his move from Bayern Munich while Antonio Rudiger and Aurélien Tchouaméni appeared for Madrid for the first time.

Barca meet Juventus next week before playing New York Red Bulls to round off their tour of the States. Madrid, meanwhile, are set for games against Club America and Juve.
