There are just three days left of the January transfer window and Premier League clubs are running out of time to get their business over the line.

Plenty of deals remain in the pipeline but players, managers and agents face a battle against the clock if any more moves are to be completed before the deadline.

Alexandre Pato is set to be one of those late signings to be confirmed in the final hours of the window and his arrival could have a knock-on impact on another Chelsea striker.

After all, to have one injury-prone striker unproven in the Premier League whose best years are in all likelihood behind him might constitute an acceptable risk but two? That's utter lunacy.

It is hardly a secret that Chelsea wish to rid themselves of Monaco loanee Radamel Falcao, the once fearsome forward who has a record of five goals in 35 Premier League games. But who would take his burdensome salary?
