Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin has been 'unsettled' by the transfer speculation surrounding him this summer, according to teammate Clint Hill.

The 26-year-old enjoyed a superb debut campaign in the Premier League last season, scoring 18 goals, and has been strongly linked with a move away from Loftus Road following the west London club's relegation to the second tier.

Chris Ramsey is resigned to losing Austin and the Championship side have set their asking price for the Englishman at £15m but are yet to receive any firm offers for the forward with the transfer deadline now just days away.

Austin scored during Rangers' 2-2 draw against Cardiff City on Saturday evening and Hill has warned that his teammates' future might not be resolved until deadline day,

"We won’t know probably until the last day of the window. There’s a lot of attention on him, he doesn’t know where he is going to end up. Obviously, it’s very unsettling for him,” Hill admitted.

Although Austin could soon leave the club, Hill is adamant that the striker deserves to be given credit for his contribution to QPR's cause since his move from Burnley two years ago.

“It was nice for him to get his first goal of the season. Hopefully he can bang a few more in before he goes - if he does.

“If he leaves, whether it’s in the coming days or the end of the month, you wish him well because he’s been brilliant for this club and that is why the fans love him,” Hill said.
