A Tottenham fan left a special memento as the club said goodbye to White Hart Lane on Sunday.

Spurs’ 2-1 victory over Manchester United saw the club win their last ever match at the stadium that has been their home in north London for 118 years.

And for one season ticket holder, it was the perfect opportunity to leave a special message.

Sat in the East Stand, the fan’s view has been limited by one of the stadium’s infamous pillars for over a decade.

Attached with a couple of plasters, Paul - who travelled down from Birmingham each week - fastened the following, brilliant message:

“Dear Post,

Thanks for the (missing) memories.

4th Feb 2007 – 14th May 2017”

Tottenham played 2533 matches at White Hart Lane between 1899 and 2017, and Sunday’s victory ensured they club recorded their highest league finish since 1963.

Spurs will now play a minimum of one season away from north London at Wembley Stadium before returning to the Tottenham High Road and their new 61,599-capacity stadium.
