Premier League chief executive Richard Masters has confirmed that no clubs have asked for the threat of relegation be removed if the 2019-20 season resumes.

Representatives from all 20 top-flight outfits held further talks over 'Project Restart' via video link on Monday, with the prospect of curtailment discussed for the first time but the commitment to finishing the campaign remaining intact.

Masters confirmed earlier on Monday evening that there was a preference for all clubs to play matches home and away rather than at neutral venues if possible, with "some clubs feeling more strongly about that than others" and the league confirming they are representing club views during ongoing discussions with the relevant authorities.

The prospect of completing the remaining 92 fixtures of the season at neutral venues has caused particular concern among the bottom-six clubs amid fears over the integrity of the competition and the loss of crucial home advantage during a relegation battle.

Brighton, Aston Villa and Watford have all gone public with their opposition to the proposal, while it has been reported that some clubs will only agree to play at neutral grounds if relegation is taken off the table.

However, that prospect has not been raised by any club during the meetings that have taken place thus far.

"None, and none," Masters said.

"All I can go on is what we're discussing in our meetings. And you specifically asked about scrapping relegation while playing out the season, and that has never been raised in our formal meetings at all."
