England Women travel to face Northern ireland tonight, looking to all but seal their place at the 2023 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

A sold-out Windsor Park full with 16,000 fans - a record for women’s football in the country - will greet the two teams in Belfast as the hosts look to pull off the major upset required to get their qualification campaign back on track.

Austria claimed a 3-1 win over Northern Ireland on Friday to leave them adrift of a top-two finish while prolific England put ten goals past North Macedonia.

Yet to concede a goal or drop a point in Group D, the Lionesses know a win will leave them at least five points clear of the Austrians with two games to play - which includes a match-up with their closest rivals and the visit of Luxembourg.

Northern Ireland vs England is scheduled for a 7.55pm BST kick-off time tonight, Tuesday April 12, 2022.

Windsor Park in Belfast will host the match.

Leah Williamson should return to captain England officially for the first time after sitting out the win in North Macedonia but the Lionesses are without Arsenal defender Lotte Wubben-Moy (thigh) and Manchester City full-back Alex Greenwood (knee).

Northern Ireland boss Kenny Shiels has a full squad to choose from, meanwhile.
