Mauricio Pochettino has labeled Tottenham as a “special club”.
The Paris Saint-Germain was strongly linked with an emotional return to Spurs last summer following the sacking of Jose Mourinho but ultimately remained in the French capital, though his future is still in doubt.
While PSG sit 13 points clear in Ligue 1, they have already been knocked out of the Coupe de France and have struggled to wholly convince despite an aggressive summer recruitment drive to have seen Lionel Messi, Georginio Wijnaldum and Sergio Ramos join on free transfers.
Pochettino has been touted as a future Manchester United manager with Ralf Rangnick’s short spell in charge set to come to an end at the end season but has reflected fondly on his time with Spurs.
Prior to his sacking in November 2019, the Argentine had built one of the most exciting teams in Europe largely based on developing young players and adopting a high-energy system, while Pochettino remains a popular figure amongst the support.
““It was an amazing journey, amazing time,” he told BT Sport ahead of PSG’s Champions League with Real Madrid on Wednesday evening.
“Tottenham is my club, my place. When you really feel commitment, the people give everything, treat you well, it is impossible to forget that. Tottenham will always be a special club.”
