Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew made five changes to his side as they prepared to face Manchester City in the fourth round of the Capital One Cup.

Pardew led his Newcastle side to victory over Manuel Pellegrini's men, then holders, at the same stage of the competition 12 months ago and stuck with Wayne Hennessey, Adrian Mariappa, Scott Dann and Martin Kelly at the back as he set out to repeat the feat.

Damien Delaney, Mile Jedinak and Joe Ledley were brought in for Brede Hangeland, James McArthur and Yohan Cabaye respectively as Yannick Bolasie kept his place.

Wilfried Zaha, Jordon Mutch and Patrick Bamford, who scored at the Etihad for Middlesbrough in the FA Cup earlier this year, were all introduced to the starting XI.

Manuel Pellegrini made six changes with Willy Caballero in goal and Kelechi Iheanacho, who hit the decisive strike when these two sides met in September, starting in attack.
