Erik ten Hag’s United are flying at Old Trafford, while Frank Lampard is desperate for a Toffees win

Manchester United play host to struggling Everton in the FA Cup third round tonight.

After a difficult start to life under Erik ten Hag, United are back on form and could feasibly win a trophy for the first time since 2017 alongside qualifying for next season’s Champions League. While there is still a long way to go of course, there is a real feeling of momentum after six straight wins across all competitions either side of the World Cup interval.

Everton, meanwhile, are teetering on the brink of yet another crisis. Frank Lampard is under serious pressure and while their focus is clearly on staying in the Premier League, a dismal loss at Old Trafford would be another big blow.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Manchester United vs Everton is scheduled for an 8pm GMT kick-off today, Friday January 6, 2023.

Old Trafford in Manchester will host the match.

Manchester United vs Everton prediction

While United can surely expect a reaction from Everton following their abysmal 4-1 home defeat at the hands of Brighton, they have been far too good at Old Trafford this season to imagine there will be an upset.
