Luis Suarez eyes a swift return for Liverpool

11 April 2012

Luis Suarez could play for Liverpool tomorrow even though he only returned to training four days ago after starring for Uruguay in the Copa America.

Manager Kenny Dalglish has been impressed by the forward's impact this week and will decide in the morning whether to play him against Sunderland at Anfield.

Suarez has been a huge hit since joining from Ajax in January and added to his reputation at last month's Copa America, where he was named man of the tournament after helping his country win the title for the 15th time.

Dalglish said: "Luis trained and has no problem. We'll wait and see how he is tomorrow."

Jordan Henderson, who left Sunderland in a £20million deal this summer, is in the squad along with Liverpool's other new signings Stewart Downing, Charlie Adam and Doni.

Captain Steven Gerrard (groin) and defender Martin Skrtel (calf) are both out while full-back Glen Johnson (hamstring) faces a late fitness test.

The club were today trying to complete the £6m transfer of Newcastle left-back Jose Enrique.
