Liverpool: Jurgen Klopp backs Mohamed Salah to hit top form ahead of Manchester United clash

Jurgen Klopp has backed Mohamed Salah to return to scoring ways ahead of Liverpool’s clash with Manchester United.

The Egyptian forward has netted only one goal in his last ten games in all competitions, although he remains comfortably the Premier League’s top scorer ahead of teammates Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane.

With north-west neighbours United next up at Anfield, before another derby against Everton, Klopp has dismissed concerns about Salah’s form.

“It's a completely normal spell he is going through," said the manager.

“We've spoken about the physical demands. I liked the game against [Manchester] City a lot, it was a really good football game, and it's only a question of time before he scores again.

“He's been close enough a couple of times and the moment will definitely come. I am really happy with the performance he showed a few days ago.”

Salah is out of contract at Liverpool in just over a year’s time and Klopp insisted there is no news on that front for Reds fans.

“We have had plenty of talks over the time we have worked together and at this specific moment there is no need to talk about the situation,” he added. “Just the normal stuff about what he has to do in the game and all these kind of things.”
