Laurent Koscielny has made an instant impact after returning to Arsenal's first team following his post-Euro 2016 break, winning the Gunners' Player of the Month award for August.
Koscielny was given an extended break by Arsene Wenger after reaching the Euro 2016 final with France, though the Gunners struggled without the defender in their first Premier League game of the season against Liverpool.
Injuries to Per Mertesacker and Gabriel forced Wenger to field Rob Holding and Calum Chambers as an inexperienced centre-back pairing, and Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool took advantage with a 4-3 victory at the Emirates on August 14.
Koscielny returned against Leicester a week later an impressed as Arsenal held the champions to a goalless draw at the King Power Stadium, and the France international was once again on form as the Gunners beat Watford 3-1 at Vicarage Road on August 27.
Those two performances were enough for Koscielny to win the club's monthly award ahead of current defensive partner Holding - who finished second - as well as Alexis Sanchez, whose goal and two assists were only god enough for third place in the poll.
The Gunners' tough start sees them sitting five points behind Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United after just three games, with Wenger's side already playing catch-up in the title race.

Wenger has added to his defence with a £35million deal for Valencia's Shkodran Mustafi, but Wenger has warned the 24-year-old centre-back that he faces a fight to dislodge Koscielny and Holding following their strong displays together so far this term.
