Jose Mourinho says nobody at Manchester United is happy ahead of Monday's meeting with Tottenham at Old Trafford.

United will be aiming to bounce back from a dispiriting defeat at Brighton last week when Mauricio Pochettino's side visit.

Their indifferent start to the season comes after a difficult summer in which Mourinho publicly expressed his frustration over a lack of summer signings.

He brought in Fred, Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant, crucially failing to bolster a frail defence which was horribly exposed at the Amex Stadim on Sunday.

The Portuguese boss accepts he has an unhappy camp but denied any rift with executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward during a tetchy press conference on Friday.

"I think nobody is happy, obviously," said Mourinho.

"I have enough experience to know that in football you can't look back at good or bad results; you always have to look to the next one. Especially after a negative result, what you want is to play again."

Defeat at Brighton followed a narrow win over Leicester on the opening day, so Monday's test will be the biggest examination of United's top-four credentials so far this term.

And Mourinho has warned a repeat of the errors made at Brighton will certainly be punished.

He added: "Against Leicester, we didn't make mistakes and won. Against Brighton, we made mistakes and we paid for them. I think you look at football in a pragmatic way, normally you get what you deserve.
