Louis van Gaal has warned his Manchester United players they will be cut down to size if they fail to deal with Cambridge’s aerial threat tonight.

League Two Cambridge are as long as 18-1 to pull off an FA Cup giant killing at the Abbey Stadium but United boss Van Gaal sees a potential danger.

“When you analyse Cambridge, they are very direct, long balls and five or six players above 6ft,” he said. “It is difficult to defend, so you have to prepare very well. It is not so easy to beat Cambridge.”

Tottenham centre-half Dominic Ball, 19, could be on the bench for Cambridge after joining them on loan for the rest of the season yesterday.
