Wembley paid tribute tonight to the victims of the Paris terror attacks with a display of unity and solidarity towards France.

Prince William, David Cameron and Boris Johnson were in attendance as England faced France, just four days after the French capital was left shaken by a series of terror attacks.

132 people lost their lives, while explosions were heard within the Stade de France stadium as the national team hosted a friendly against Germany. Both sides subsequently spent the night inside the stadium.

Wembley’s arch was illuminated with the colours of the French flag, while screens outside the stadium donned the message: “Liberte, Egalite, Fraternite”.

Following out the teams, and laying floral tributes, were the Duke of Cambridge, Roy Hodgson, France head coach Didier Deschamps, FA chairman Greg Dyke, FFF president Noel Le Graet and the French secretary if State of Urban Affairs, Youth and Sport, Patrick Kanner.

The players wore their customary black armbands for the match, which France and Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris admitted would be hugely emotional.

"I know the English very well,” he told reporters on Monday. “I know that they'll help us to commemorate and support us before the game. We're very, very grateful for the messages.

"I think the only thing we can do is to play football and to try to escape people during the game and, of course, there will be a lot of emotions from us, the players.”
