Tottenham forward Heung-min Son is hopeful that every week of his career in England will be like the first after his third goal for the club goal helped Spurs claim a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon.

The 23-year-old joined Mauricio Pochettino's side from Bayer Leverkusen in January and has made an immediate impact for the north Londoners.

The South Korea international made his debut during last weekend's win over Sunderland and was on target twice during the midweek Europa League victory against FK Qarabag after being handed a central role by his Argentine coach.

Although Son had to surrender his place up front to Harry Kane for the visit of Alan Pardew's side, he thrived in a number 10 role and produced a fierce strike in the 68th minute to see of the Eagles' challenge.

Son is delighted with how quickly he has settled into his new surroundings and joked that he would like every week of his Tottenham career to go as swimmingly as his first.

"I'm very happy because we won our first home game. I’m very happy - I’ve scored my first Premier League goal. I hope every week is like this!" he told Sky Sports.

"It's amazing, a really different style to the Bundesliga. Lots of power and speed. I like this and I'm happy to play here."

Son's move to Spurs made him the most expensive Asian player in history, but he has coped with the pressure surrounding his price tag admirably.

The forward's energy and work ethic has made a clear difference to Pochettino's front line and Son is expected to retain his place in the side for Wednesday's Capital One Cup third round clash against fierce rivals Arsenal.

A fourth goal in as many games at the expense of the Gunners would ensure that Son's second week at Spurs would be every bit as good as the first.
