Harry Kane concedes Golden Boot to Liverpool's Mohamed Salah as Tottenham goal target set at 30

1/26

Harry Kane has appeared to concede the Golden Boot to Mohamed Salah with three more games of the Premier League season to play.

The Tottenham striker is gunning to finish the campaign as the top flight's best goalscorer for a third season on the trot, a feat only previously achieved by Alan Shearer and Thierry Henry.

But Liverpool star Salah sits four ahead of Kane on 31 goals, having played a game more, and now the England striker says his target is to better last season's tally of 29 rather than catch the Egyptian.

Last season Kane scored seven goals in the final two games of the season to overtake Romelu Lukaku and hopes for a similar flurry this term.

Asked how many goals he was targeting between now and the end of the season, Kane told Sky Sports: "Who knows? I try and improve every year.

"Last year I got 29 so I would like to try and beat that first and foremost and we'll see what happens.

"Last year was an unbelievable end. I'm looking forward to it, hopefully, I can do the same, but in my mind I am just trying to get to that 30-goal mark."

Spurs face West Brom, Newcastle and Leicester City in their final three games.
