Donnarumma ended a protracted transfer saga last summer when he signed fresh terms with Milan, but his future remains the subject of speculation.

The 18-year-old was reduced to tears in December when AC Milan supporters unfurled a banner urging the goalkeeper to quit the club.

It followed reports which claimed Donnarumma is determined to leave the San Siro after writing to the club to demand they tear up the four-year contract he signed in July.

When does the winter Transfer Window open and close around the world?

And the goalkeeper, who is seen as Buffon's long-term successor in the Italy national side, is reportedly attracting interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid.

But Buffon has now challenged the young goalkeeper to stay in Serie A and join the Italian champions.

"I do not live his situation but one thing is certain, if he comes to Juventus he's never wrong," Buffon told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"I do not know the emotional connection that he has with Milan. What makes the difference is what vibrates inside your soul."
