As excitement builds for the return of major Champions League football tomorrow night BT Sport have been building excitement ahead of Manchester United’s tie with Club Brugge.
Some of Europe’s finest players, and some of BT Sport’s finest pundits, were given what would seem a relatively simple task for current or even former players… chip a ball into a bin from around 12 yards.
That should be child’s play for Robbie Savage, let alone Gareth Bale and Robin van Persie. But as the video above shows, it’s not quite that simple.
Philip Lahm, David Luiz and Didier Drogba all struggled to find their range early on. Perhaps they were more confident than they should have been, van Persie certainly would not have wanted his no look chip to sail some distance wide considering the blasé way he hit it.
Indeed the competition between the world-class players had a surprise winner as an ex-pro never known for his impudent ball skills beat the bin before anyone else. But who was the ultimate basket case? Watch above to find out.
