Youth football can get a little heated with furious families on the touchline, but parental pressure rarely - if ever - extends to the professional game.

However, the Cooper household may have to expand their naughty step after Forest Green Rovers manager Mark Cooper and his son Charlie were both sent off in the same game on New Year's Day.

Cooper senior was outraged when Charlie was given his marching orders in the 39th minute following a touchline clash with Wycombe midfielder Luke O'Nien, and was sent to the stands by referee Antony Coggins.

Already 1-0 down to Matt Bloomfield's goal, Forest Green saw veteran striker Craig Mackail-Smith double Wycombe's lead three minutes after the bizarre incident.

Substitute Jack Fitzwater halved the deficit with 20 minutes remaining, but Forest Green went on to lose the match 2-1.

That result keeps Rovers bottom of League One and one point from safety.
