Crystal Palace midfielder Joe Ledley will miss the FA Cup Final against Manchester United after fracturing his leg.

The Wales international is also set to miss Euro 2016 after he was injured against Stoke on Saturday.

Eleven minutes after coming on as a half-time substitute, Ledley was struck on the back of the leg and it was initially thought he had damaged his Achilles.

However, a scan yesterday revealed that he had broken a bone, ruling him out of the Wembley clash on May 21. Ledley appeared in the final eight years ago when Cardiff lost to Portsmouth.

Wales boss Chris Coleman named Ledley in his pre tournament training camp on Monday in the hope the injury would not prevent him from playing in Euro 2016.

However, the UEFA deadline for naming squads is May 31 and even if Ledley has only a minor fracture it is likely he would be out for between three to four weeks.

Meanwhile, Alan Pardew will sign his new contract at Palace before the Cup final.

The 54-year-old agreed a deal earlier this year but he wanted to wait until Palace were assured of Premier League survival before putting pen to paper.

That took longer than anticipated but chairman Steve Parish is now keen to get the contract finalised before Palace play United. A few small details are still to be finalised but Pardew is ready to sign a long term deal.

He has led Palace to only the second FA Cup Final in the club’s 111-year history and has his sights set on winning their first major trophy.

The Eagles are 14th in the League and, despite their slump during the second half of the season, can finish as high as 12th if they beat Southampton on Sunday.
