Alex Sandro will not be leaving Juventus to join Chelsea this summer, according to the Italian champions’ manager Massimiliano Allegri.

Sandro is one of Chelsea’s first-choice targets as Antonio Conte looks to strengthen his wing-backs ahead of a season of Champions League football.

Chelsea offered £61million to bring the left-sided defender to the Premier League but The Old Lady of Italian football has held firm in its resolve not to lose another defender after seeing Leonardo Bonucci defect to Serie A rivals AC Milan.

Allegri told PremiumSport: “Alex Sandro? He’s a Juventus player, he’s extraordinary and he won’t leave us.

“He’s improved so much since he came to Juve and he has the margins to improve again. Along with Marcelo, he’s on the best in the world.”

The Blues, who still hope to complete a further four transfers before the transfer window closes in a month’s time, have already begun considering other targets to challenge Marcos Alonso and Victor Moses on the flanks.

Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who has only a year left on his contract, Djibril Sidibe of Monaco and Southampton pair Cedric Soares and Ryan Bertrand are among those under consideration.
