Edgar Davids could face a police investigation after allegedly slapping a woman in an Amsterdam cinema.

The Dutchman, who came out of retirement to complete a shock move to Crystal Palace last month, is claimed to have had an altercation with two women who were sitting in his pre-booked seats.

Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf report that one of the women was left with a black eye after an incident at the Tuschinski Theatre.

Palace would not comment but, having had the weekend off for the internationals, Davids is not thought to have missed training this week.
