Eden Hazard cheated Chelsea's fans, Jose Mourinho and himself last season, according to Stan Collymore.

The Belgian winger was instrumental in Chelsea's title triumph in 2014/15 but went off the boil last term and scored just two League goals during a disastrous title defence.

The Blues' poor form cost Mourinho his job and resulted in the club's worst points total during Roman Abramovich's tenure at Stamford Bridge.

Hazard has started the current campaign well and opened his goalscoring account in Monday night's 2-1 victory over West Ham, but his upturn in form has angered Collymore.

"Eden Hazard's performance against West Ham just went to show how much of a cheat he was last season," Collymore told the Mirror.

"I bet Jose Mourinho watched Monday’s game thinking, 'What an absolute, erm.... rascal. There’s a player who essentially helped get me the sack and all of a sudden, for a new manager, it’s as if nothing ever happened.'"

"For 90 per cent of last season Hazard cheated himself, cheated Chelsea fans and cheated the League that has rewarded him so well," he added.

Hazard has previously been linked with a high-profile move to both Real Madrid and Barcelona but Collymore is adamant the winger's actions last season will not have been well received by the Spanish giants.

"If you’re a Real or Barca manager or scout, you’re looking for big characters who step up when there is adversity, not cheats who will quite happily get their boss sacked."
