Fulham goalkeeper David Button has joined Brighton on a three-year deal.

The 29-year-old former Tottenham and Brentford man has signed for the Premier League rivals for an undisclosed fee.

Button made 60 league appearances for Fulham over the previous two seasons, eventually losing his place to Marcus Bettinelli.

"We're delighted to bring a goalkeeper of David’s experience to the club," Brighton manager Chris Hughton told the club's official website.

"With Christian Walton and Robert Sanchez going out on loan this season, we felt we needed someone to provide further competition for places in that area of the team.

"He has a wealth of experience, having made over 300 appearances during his career so far, and I’m sure he will work well with Maty Ryan and Jason Steele."

Button, who made one appearance for Tottenham in 2009, played his final game for Fulham in a FA Cup third-round defeat to Southampton in January.
