Crystal Palace fans are the best in the Premier League because they stay for 90 minutes, says Luka Milivojevic

Luka Milivojevic has hailed Crystal Palace’s fans as the best in the country, and a rare breed in the Premier League.

The Serbian believes Palace supporters are unrivalled in the top flight because they stay, and support, for the entire 90 minutes, regardless of the result.

It may seem a simple thing to take notice of, but it takes just a glance across the capital to Tottenham, West Ham or Arsenal where, for their own reasons, fans leave in droves with ten minutes or more left to play.

Palace have been without the Holmesdale Fanatics, a group who - for the last 13 seasons until this one - had brought an impressive atmosphere to south London with their banners and drums behind the goal.

But the Palace captain says the Selhurst Park experience remains one of the best around without them and, with the HF set to return next season it will only get better.

“To be honest, I have played at all the stadiums in the Premier League and, this is not because I play for Crystal Palace, in my point of view we have best fans because they are supporting us over 90 minutes,” Milivojevic told Standard Sport as he met fans in Croydon.

“When you go to the other stadiums, there is a few more stadiums where the fans are really good, but there is none like ours who give us support over 90 minutes and at then end, win, lose or draw, they will still give you support.

“For me personally that means a lot , even if I lose the game that gives me belief and it pushes me to try and do more for these people. That is something that is really hard to find.

“As I said, we have really good fans. I know the situation [with the HF], from what I know the situation is close to being resolved, but you know we have the best fans and at Selhurst the atmosphere is amazing, especially with the fanatics.”
