Crystal Palace striker Emmanuel Adebayor has ended his self-imposed exile from the Togo national team and could feature in his country’s clash with Tunisia on Tuesday.

The 32-year-old has not appeared for Togo since June 2015. He had turned down an offer to return to the national team earlier this month, citing his desire to help Palace avoid a relegation scrap.

However talks held with his national team over the weekend have changed Adebayor’s mind and the striker is now likely to play a part for Togo in their crucial Africa Cup of Nation qualifier in Lomé.

"Adebayor joined the national team yesterday [Sunday] after negotiations with FTF officials. He trained just like his team-mates," Pierre Lamadokou, secretary general for the Togolese Football Federation, said.

"He will be with his team-mates again on Monday afternoon for the final training session before the game against Tunisia."

Adebayor has scored just one goal for Palace since arriving on a short-term contract in January and has been unable to turn around a dramatic slump in form that has seen Alan Pardew’s side slip to just seven points above the drop zone.
