Crystal Palace hope to welcome on loan Chelsea striker Loic Remy back into their side in time for the festive period.

Remy suffered a thigh injury just a few days after arriving at Selhurst Park on a season long loan and returned to his parent club for treatment at the start of this month.

However manager Alan Pardew remains keen to bring Remy back as soon as he is available with Palace suffering injuries to several key personnel and hopes the 29-year-old will be ready to feature within two months.

“He is doing better,” Pardew said. “I am fingers crossed that he starts December as a fully fit player for those games then. Let's see.”

Palace lost fellow striker Jonathan Benteke earlier this week for four months after he picked injured the meniscus on his knee, leaving Pardew with only Christian Benteke, Connor Wickham and Frazier Campbell to choose from for the time being.
