Juventus chief Giuseppe Marotta has warned Chelsea and other interested clubs that a fee upwards of £73 million will be needed to sign Paul Pogba in the future.
The France international was considered one of Jose Mourinho’s main targets going into the final week of the transfer window but, as with both John Stones and Antoine Griezmann, the Blues would miss out on the former Manchester United man.
Real Madrid, Manchester City, Barcelona and PSG are all believed to be interested in prising Pogba from Turin, while a potential return to Old Trafford has all but been ruled out by the player’s representatives.
But Juventus director general Marotta has warned clubs that the asking price for Pogba could top £73m in future windows.
"As we want to win, we have decided to keep hold of a player as important as Pogba, although we have had offers from some very important clubs," Marotta told reporters.
"In the future he could be worth more than 100 million euros."
For Juve, keeping hold of the 22-year-old was a much needed boost at the end of a turbulent window which saw a number of star names leave the club.

Marotta continued: "We've lost the likes of Pirlo, Tevez and Vidal, three irreplaceable players, against our will and replacing them isn't easy.”
