Chelsea 5 Everton 0 live as it happened: Antonio Conte's Blues top after Pedro, Diego Costa, Eden Hazard and Marcos Alonso goals

Eden Hazard scored twice as Chelsea surged to an electrifying 5-0 victory over Everton to rise to the top of the Premier League on Saturday.

Not only was it Chelsea's fifth consecutive league win since a 3-0 humbling by Arsenal, but Antonio Conte's side has 15 goals without reply in the ruthless run.

It was all too easy for the Stamford Bridge hosts, ripping through a brittle Everton side with electrifying finesse and exuberance.

Diego Costa and Pedro Rodriguez also scored, and if they continue to combine so effectively up front with Hazard — and the defensive reliance is maintained — Conte could be ending his first season in English football with the title.

WHAT THEY SAID

Asked by Standard Sport if he feels any disappointment about not buying Lukaku, Antonio Conte said: “No, absolutely not.

“We have Diego who is playing fantastic football, not only scoring the goals but working a lot and very well for the team.

“I think that I'm seeing a complete player in Diego. It's fantastic for me, for the team, to have him in the team. Also because he's scoring a lot. But above all because he's working a lot for the team. That's very important.

“When we have our strikers, plus Eden Hazard, Pedro, Willian and Oscar... all working so well for the team, it's fantastic. I have nothing to regret."
