Eden Hazard believes Chelsea do not need to buy a striker this month and says a tall forward may struggle to fit in at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea have been looking at big players who can lead the line and have made shock inquiries for Andy Carroll and Peter Crouch.
They are in advanced talks with Roma about a double deal worth £44m for frontman Edin Dzeko and left wing-back Emerson Palmieri.
But Hazard feels that current duo Alvaro Morata and Michy Batshuayi, who is expected to leave on loan, are more than good enough for the second half of the campaign.
Hazard said: "I think we have two very good strikers in Alvaro and Michy. If they are not ready to play I can play striker, so I don't think we need [another one].
"Football is simple - keep the ball on the ground and try [to play] like we did. Because we are missing chances people are saying we need another striker, but if we are scoring goals, we are the best attack in the League and no-one can say we need a striker.
"It depends on the form of the team and I think we're happy with the team we have."
Hazard scored a fine brace to help Chelsea return to winning ways on Saturday with a 4-0 triumph at Brighton.
The display was full of neat intricate passing among the front three of Hazard, Batshuayi and Willian.
However, the 27-year-old suggested that entertaining style would have to change if they brought in an old-fashioned target man.
He added: "Who is the best team this year? Manchester City. The strikers, (Gabriel) Jesus and (Sergio) Aguero, are not big.
"It's simple. It depends how you want to play. If you want to play with long balls you need a target man, if you want to keep the ball on the floor you need a small guy. It depends how you want to play."
