Chelsea will have another £2.7m to add to their transfer kitty this summer courtesy of Mohamed Salah's £39m transfer to Liverpool.

Chelsea sold Salah, who made just 19 appearances for the Blues between 2014-16, to Roma for £12m last year.

However, the Blues included a sell-on clause as part of the deal which entitles them to 10 per cent of any profit the Serie A club makes on the Egypt international.

Liverpool are about to complete a club record deal for Salah, with the fee expected to reach £39m.

It means Roma stand to make £27m on a player they signed just 12 months ago, but Chelsea will get £2.7m of that.

Liverpool have also signed Chelsea's out of contract forward Dominic Solanke, but that fee will be decided by a tribunal next month because he is an Academy trained player under the age of 24.

As Standard Sport revealed last week, Chelsea are demanding in excess of £10m for the 19-year-old following his triumph with the England Under-20 side at the World Cup.

The club have already made £10m from the sale of Asmir Begovic to Bournemouth, while Lyon are closing in on a £16.6m deal for Bertrand Traore.
