Kit Symons has challenged Fulham to take a step closer to safety with a win at Charlton tonight.

Fulham are seven points above the Championship relegation zone with six games remaining.

“Millwall winning on Friday keeps it tight down there and we have got to go and finish the job,” said Symons.

“We have a really good, honest bunch of lads. We know what we need to do. We need to get enough points until we are mathematically safe. We have some really big games and the players are aware of that.”

Fulham go into the match on the back of their 4-1 derby defeat to Brentford.

However, midfielder Danny Guthrie said: “The score doesn’t look great but we felt at half-time that we were probably the better team. We didn’t take enough care with our chances.”

Fulham hope captain Scott Parker will be available to feature against his former club after illness.

Charlton will be without Chris Solly after the defender was sent off against Millwall.
