Barnet chairman Tony Kleanthous to boycott FA Cup replay over ticket row with Brentford

Barnet chairman Tony Kleanthous is planning to boycott his side’s FA Cup replay with Brentford on Tuesday due to a dispute over the away ticket allocation.

Non-League Barnet are travelling to Brentford for their fourth-round replay after the first match finished 3-3.

But Kleanthous will not be present because he believes his club have not received their full allocation of tickets.

Griffin Park has a capacity of 12,763 and Barnet were hoping to receive the maximum away allocation under FA Cup guidelines of 15 per cent (1,914), but instead they have been given 1,660.

Kleanthous said: “Thus far, despite strong representation to the club, we have been unable to secure for our fans the full ticket allocation.

“As for myself, I do not feel comfortable to attend at all and will try and organise a stream of the match from Legends Bar or on iBarnet, which the FA have kindly agreed to.”

Since 2014, Brentford have always given away fans an allocation of 1,660 — which is the whole of the Brook Road Stand. It is understood 15 per cent is a maximum, not a minimum figure, and Brentford are believed to have dispensation from the FA to set their allocation at 13 per cent.
