Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain believes Arsenal's trip to Gander Green Lane on Monday night provided Alexis Sanchez with a football experience he is unlikely to have ever felt before.

The Gunners travelled to Sutton last night to contest their FA Cup fifth-round tie with the non-league side, which ended in a 2-0 victory for Arsene Wenger's men.

Oxlade-Chamberlain was brought on as a second-half substitute in the game before Wenger opted to send Sanchez - the Premier League's top scorer with 17 goals this season - on in the 74th minute for Alex Iwobi.

Oxlade-Chamberlain later admitted he fully enjoyed his trip to Gander Green Lane, and said the match will have served as a real insight into non-league football for the likes of Sanchez and some of Arsenal's other players.

"Obviously it was something certain players haven’t seen in England yet," Oxlade-Chamberlain said.

"I don’t think Alexis has experienced a game like that in a place like this! Everyone was really excited and looking forward to it.

"It’s obviously different to what we’re used to and it was another challenge for us to get our heads around.

"Even being on the bench first half, just looking around and seeing all the fans really enjoying themselves was great.

"And then to have a few moments at the end with the Sutton players in the dressing room was really nice - that’s what the cup is all about."

Arsenal take on Lincoln City in the next round of the FA Cup after the National League side eliminated Premier League club Burnley in their fifth-round tie on Saturday.

And Oxlade-Chamberlain said: "It’s another really exciting one for both sides.

"After what they did at Burnley, I’m sure Lincoln will be right up for that. So we’re going to have to go into that one with very concentrated minds and get the result."
