Unai Emery believes Arsenal were wrongly reduced to 10 men during Sunday's disastrous 3-0 Premier League defeat to Leicester City.

The hapless Gunners, also beaten by Crystal Palace and Wolves over the last week, slumped to a third successive loss at the King Power Stadium as their hopes of securing a top-four finish and Champions League qualification for next season suffered another sizable blow.

Despite another disappointing start on the road, Arsenal remained level at 0-0 when Ainsley Maitland-Niles was given his marching orders in the 36th minute by referee Michael Oliver.

And while many questioned the brandishing of a second yellow card for his foul on James Maddison, Emery believes it was the 21-year-old's first caution - for bringing down Ben Chilwell - that should not have been awarded.

"I don't agree with the decision because I think the key is the first yellow card," he told Sky Sports.

"For me it's not - very clear. But we are playing both with the referee and they decide it like that and today for us is not a good decision."
