FA Cup finalists Arsenal welcomed back defender Laurent Koscielny from injury while midfielder Kim Kallstrom made his first start in the Barclays Premier League clash against West Ham at the Emirates Stadium.
Tomas Rosicky came into midfield having missed the dramatic penalty shoot-out win over Wigan at Wembley on Saturday, while Aaron Ramsey and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain were both on the bench as regular number one Wojciech Szczesny returned in place of Lukasz Fabianski, who saved two spot-kicks.
West Ham had not played since the home defeat to Liverpool on April 6 but were without captain Kevin Nolan, who failed a fitness test on his hamstring problem. England World Cup hopeful Andy Carroll led the Irons' attack.
