The January transfer window is now just days away and Premier League clubs will have a chance to splash the cash or pinch some pennies.

While the majority of the nation will be able to put their feet up over the festive period, teams will no doubt be working behind the scenes to get some transfer business done.

Arsene Wenger has attracted a somewhat frugal reputation during his spell in charge of Arsenal, but the Frenchman could be about to have a change of heart.

The French coach is reported to be ready to launch a £33m bid for Sevilla midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak.

The Poland international is believed to have been tracked by the Gunners for more than a year and, with Francis Coquelin out injured, the north London club will make their move next month.

Wenger's side are also said to be on the brink of a deal for Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny, with only a fee left to be agreed for the 23-year-old before the transfer can be rubber stamped.
