Arsenal's attempts to sign a striker ahead of the new Premier League have reportedly turned to Carlos Bacca.

To this point West Ham have led the race for the Colombia international, but the Gunners are said to have turned to Bacca in a late bid to hijack the deal.

The Hammers were this week waiting on a final decision from Bacca after seeing a £26million bid for the 29-year-old accepted, but their hopes have been dented by Bacca's desire to play Champions League football.

Atletico Madrid are also in the hunt for Bacca and the Milan striker this week said: “The Champions League with Atletico? It's my dream to play in it and I work for it."

But Arsenal, who have also shown interest in Alvaro Morata, Gonzalo Higuain and Alexandre Lacazette this summer, could gazump Atleti with the offer of Champions League football at Emirates Stadium next season, according to reports.
