Antonio Conte is set to field an inexperienced side when Chelsea host Everton in the League Cup on Wednesday night.

Among the players expected to start the fourth-round tie at Stamford Bridge are Charly Musonda and Kenedy, both of whom were handed starts in the 5-1 win over Nottingham Forest in the last round.

Musonda and Kenedy both scored in that victory in late September and, with N'Golo Kante, Victor Moses and Danny Drinkwater still sidelined with injury, Conte will rest his regular starters on Wednesday.

He said: "I think for the game against Everton, it is impossible to recover for [Danny] Drinkwater. [Victor] Moses needs more time and so does [N'Golo] Kante.

"But I think this could be a good opportunity to give a chance to the young players like Charly Musonda, also Kenedy, young players who I think deserve the chance.

"They are working very hard, they are improving and we can see the improvement against Everton which is a tough game. It is important for me, important for the club. We will do this."
