Arsenal's injury crisis worsened this afternoon as Alexis Sanchez picked up a knock during the Gunners' Premier League fixture against Norwich City.

Arsene Wenger recently admitted that he would have rested the Chilean forward in recent weeks had Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain not been sidelined and the extra workload appears to have finally caught up with the South American.

Sanchez, who is one of just five players to have featured in all 13 of Arsenal's Premier League fixtures this season, had to be withdrawn just before the hour mark during today's clash at Carrow Rod.

The 26-year-old raced forward to try and reach a through ball but pulled up clutching his hamstring and, after a period of consultation with the club's medical staff, was replaced by Joel Campbell.

The extent of Sanchez's injury is not yet known but he will now be a doubt to face Sunderland on Saturday.

Sanchez was the second Arsenal player to be struck down in Norfolk as centre back Laurent Koscielny was substituted in the first half nursing a hip problem.

Wenger is already without several members of his first-team - with Danny Welbeck and Jack Wilshere among a list of long-term absentees, ahead of a crucial run of fixtures, including a must-win Champions League group game against Olympiacos.
